The opening of the movie is such different from others. Which gives more interesting 1st half but while try to implement the political in the 2nd half gives the regular political drama with unbelievable climax as such rest.

Tries to be too many things...
kaya_natarajan23 October 2021
What is "Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum"? It is a movie about a villager who has lost his bullocks, the events leading to it and the aftermath. The movie has a brilliant plot but gets mired and bogged down by touching too many issues. Sticking to the plot could have produced a gritty watch.
The movie is quite engaging till the intermission. The second half veers away and tries to carry too much on the shoulders without being able to do justice to everything. Comparisons can't be avoided, as the political mockery and media spectacle has been seen in (similar) movies such as Joker.
What really sets this movie apart is the production and the cast. The cast does a fantastic job, especially the appatha(s). Makes me wonder if these people are actors or were taken from the nearby villages. Cinematography and sound capture a bare bones village exquisitely. The characters are well developed that even the village wastrel does a brilliant job of still sleeping at the chavadi though there is a funeral procession and band playing right next to him. The political and media circus make for a funny watch. The resemblance to certain politicians is obvious.
The movie is definitely a good watch. Though it tries to be too many things, it can't be dismissed.

An enjoyable amateur film with a good plot.

The film's strength lies in its portrayal of the characters. The actors do a respectable job here, and the dialogue sounds authentic enough to not notice any goofs.
The story is simple, and doesn't beat around the bush.
Overall, its worth a watch.

good village drama with nice political message... Not as enjoyable one as "mandela" but this one has its own moments... The first half is so authentic and enjoyable one... the second half lost its originality and move on to the movie masala... not fully but bit noticeable... One time watchable village drama....

A movie which can't be avoided

A village satire which is very much close to the current scenario. Ramya Pandian and Mithun manickam lived in their roles. Vani has done her part well. Vadivelu murugan and appatha added flavors to the movie.
Music and Bgms by krishh are exceptional. Dialogues are backbone to this satire.

Good story but poor execution..!

A movie poster And trailer was good but while watching whole movie really disappointed..
More unrealistic scenes ruins the nature of the movie like engineers wanted board in tea shop and protogonist guy against for ladam for his cow..
A poor village couple faces struggled after missing their 2 male cows...they have more emotion with those cows..soo they try to find out at any cost..
Once watchable..!
Could have been way better.

Hero acting was decent. Ramya Pandian and Vani Bhojan were there just to try to make people cry. Ramya Pandian's Joker movie role was better than this. Kodangi vadivel is the only shining line in this movie. Hope to see him in many movies.
This movie reminded me of the Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar. More than judging her work is to cry and try to kindle the emotions of the people. Likewise, this movie has tried its level best to cry and kindle the emotions of people. Maybe the hero's pain is felt a bit.
Mainly the Vani Bhojan parts were like "yengaluku azhugai varala". They are showing that Vani Bhojan is in the media who covers big political meetings too. But yet she doesn't know such villages with no facilities exists? Is she ignorant or just plain stupid?
Also saying "Hindi theriyadhu poda" to a blue-collar person is sort of stupid. Even he is trying to earn his simple livelihood. Say no to Hindi imposition but that has to be told to the white-collar people and the politicians. Hero, going to a slaughterhouse, what did he expect? Overacting by crying because he is "shocked" to see beef.
Also making fun of politicians and farmer association leaders without anything to convey is just useless. Too many aimless messages in the movie. Can be avoided.

So-so film
ngandacinema17 September 2022
A wake-up call that brings together good humor and socio-political awareness. Production was generally so-so
DELICIOUS
---The film was a beautiful display of village life and its people. We got to experience the farming activities and see the painful labor under the scorching sun
---The scenario was an eye-opener that loudly called us to be vigilant about the measures taken by our leaders. It showed us politics' manipulation of information and power while giving us a good dose of laughter.
---Beautiful work on the color grading and CGI effects!
---The soundtrack lyrics challenged us and accentuated the message of the story
BLAND
---Though the acting was natural, it didn't empower the movie. Kunnimuthhu and Veerayi, as well as the supporting cast, rendered an average performance
---Cinematography was ok, some angles were shot too briskly without a particular purpose
---In a few scenes, the score was abruptly interrupted by another one making it a bit disrupting
---The film took a whiiiile to take off due to the climax coming very late, making it unexciting afterall.

Mockery of Hindi language
kumarsatish-5089030 September 2021
I was watching this movie with all my sentiments and every thing was going on well until in movie scene there was a sign post in Hindi and a person was asking for the route in hindi language. The cast made mockery of other language which was not anticipated in this movie. All languages have their respect and they should have maintained this . I respect all languages so I can't expect mockery of my language. Very bad content for cheap popularity.
Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum movie review
divyashreedrs24 September 2021
A movie worth watching more than once. The movie has been penned down with beautiful raw emotions, the rustic sarcastic talks, funny little gestures, in short a marvellous storyline. The leads of the film have pulled out the characters assigned in the best way possible. Hero of the film has showcased the innocence of the character so perfectly and Veerayi (Ramya Pandian) has captured many hearts by living the character. Not to forget, Vani Bhojan and the comedian Vadivelu Murugan have enhanced the quality. The music along with the video has created so many soul stirring moments throughout the movie. To sum up, an awe-inspiring movie. A must watch film.

Beautiful movie
monkshighway26 September 2021
I don't know the language but saw the movie with subtitles. Actors, direction is brilliant. It is very important to watch this movie with a open and real mindset with respect to the village life and problems they face. The script seems amazing from the subtitles and you can clearly see the depth of Village life and depth in which everyone has gone. Amazing, if you are from a village and now live in a city, it is a reminder of the lovely life we had in beautiful villages. Must watch. Great job.
One time watch

Humble, modest and Warm..
vleeselwa25 September 2021
The whole movie theme is extremely humble yet bold move by director. Special mention to the actress who played Veerayi, Miss Ramya Pandian. Embodied village woman and slangs perfectly. Entertaining rants by Veerayi and Appatha. Kunnimuthu did good too. In love with both the bulls. They look majestic and cute.
Good drama. Must watch

Have issues in screenplay but must watch
pravin_nair10 December 2021
Ideally I should have given 8/10 for this movie, owing to screenplay issues, but giving 10/10 as such movies are required for otherwise over the top tamil film industry. This movie stay grounded and do not take any cinematic liberty.
Must watch
vijiks10 August 2023
Movie was indeed good in midst of usual movies where heros are shown to be mass..
Music must be appreciated too. All the songs were natural and bgm too was good..
It really feels good to watch such show off less movies, which showcases human with simple lifestyle, with no desire of grabbing money, being content with what they have, but filled with loads of love towards their dear ones..
All actors seemed natural in their actors..
Yes,there are too many societal issues pointed out by the movie, but it was handled well..
Overall, the movie, songs, screenplay, actors, everything was good. Feel good movie..
Review Of 'Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum' on Amazon Prime Video: A Village Vignette That's Decently Engaging But Not Charming
shefali-5924430 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
On the face of it, Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum (or RARA) is about Kunnimuthu (Mithun Manickam) and Veerayi (Ramya Pandian), a young couple desperately searching for the two Kangeyam bulls they love. Karuppan and Vellaiyan are like their children, and the bulls, majestic as they are, wait for their human parents to return before they eat. Something happens, and the bulls disappear. The two are unable to fathom why, and it takes Naramatha (Vani Bhojan), a reporter from a news channel, to point them in the right direction, though you can spot the reason from a mile away.
