I still like so much about this show. I'm really happy about season 4 and looking forward to it. It's not just the locations that make the stories unique, it's also the writing and direction. I don't feel like my intelligence is being insulted like so many other show do. I'm not real happy about the new wardrobe for Alexa. The bright colors work for Madison and I love them on her. She can actually wear just about anything! But I liked Alexa's style more in the previous seasons. It seemed much more natural. She could go from jogging to glamorous with ease. I do love the New Zealand scenery and we seem to be seeing more of it. That's always a good thing!

Who is in charge of the costumes?

I am normally about as fashion ignorant as one can possibly be, but what the hell happened to the costumes on this show? Who is in charge of this? When the outfits aren't at war with themselves, they're at war with the camera! Several fascia jackets this season are noticeably, jarringly, visually unreadable. Orange purse and top with a green jacket and yellow pants? What is this?
I haven't seen outfits this jarring since Roger Moore got to design his own wardrobe for the 1970 show "The Pretenders;" wardrobe designs that included sky-blue shirts with huge wide collars and bright pink cravats or ascots.
Seriously, the costuming is kinda horrific.
The redeeming feature this season is the introduction of Olive in the last few stories.
I haven't seen outfits this jarring since Roger Moore got to design his own wardrobe for the 1970 show "The Pretenders;" wardrobe designs that included sky-blue shirts with huge wide collars and bright pink cravats or ascots.

Great start to the third season. The show keeps up its quick-witted banter and quirky relationships. In fact, the camaraderie between the main characters seems even cuter. I think it's gotten more charming. But has Alexa gotten a little less cranky pants? I mean she still is but it seems a little less with the other main characters. This makes sense because she is hanging around them all the time. They are her friends after all. But we don't want to lose that part that makes Alexa a lot of fun as the lovable curmudgeon.
Loved when Alexa and Reuben pretended to be a couple learning to tango. Kudos to bringing Reuben more into the thick of things. He & Alexa were really funny.
The guest stars were great. As for the mystery, I kind of figured out who the murderer was, but the "why" of things was actually interesting. And actually, kind of stunning and sad for one of the guest characters.
The clothes are very colorful this season. At least for the first two episodes, I've seen. Everything is really vibrant and rich. Some people like it. Some people don't. It was fine for me. I was having too much fun and laughing enjoying the characters and the mysteries for it to even be a thing either way.
Anyway, cozy, fun, and charming with my favorite likable characters back again for season three. Good job! 10/10.
