A reasonable stalking thriller
greenbudgie8 July 2021
Allison Brown is a property selling agent who has had a traumatic experience. She's been the victim of a dangerous intruder who she fears is still on the loose to stalk her. She uncovers a conviction that has been kept secret concerning her friend's intended marriage partner. As the story unfolds two other men prove to have dubious past lives as well. Suspicion wavers between these three men as to who is the stalker. This is a reasonable stalking thriller with an atmosphere of suspense and nice photography. Morena Baccanin is so watchable as Allison. She has lovely and pleasant features and sports an attractive 1960s urchin style haircut in this. You may find this under an alternative title of 'Psycho Neighbor.' Lifetime Movies have a habit of giving two or three different titles to their films that requires a bit of detective work to find them on IMDb. Their messed up cast list at the end doesn't help either.

snooze fest
SnoopyStyle8 April 2018
Allison (Morena Baccarin) returns home to find a masked man had broken in. Her boyfriend Zach comes home and is killed as the masked man escapes. Police detective Jennifer Marshall arrests a suspect. Her best friend Nancy Cross has new boyfriend Mike Caldon but Allison starts to suspect the newcomer. She starts dating Rick Palmer. Stafford Keach is a rival property company boss.

Other than Morena Baccarin, none of the actors really pop off the screen. It probably doesn't help that Zach doesn't have much screen time. It's hard to care about his death especially since she seems to move on from him. As for Caldon, he's too bland and too obvious. None of it is compelling. It's an overall snooze fest.

Entertaining mystery thriller...
paul_haakonsen15 November 2021
For a TV movie, then this 2011 mystery thriller from writer Douglas Soesbe and director Jean-Marc Piché titled "Look Again" was actually rather good. Well, at least I did enjoy it.

I happened to stumble upon "Look Again" in 2021, by random chance. I had never heard about the movie prior to watching it, but seeing that the movie starred Morena Baccarin, I just had to sit down and watch it.

And I am happy that I opted to sit down and watch "Look Again", because it turned out to be an entertaining mystery thriller. Sure, writer Douglas Soesbe was playing it safe and running on all familiar tropes seen in other similar mystery thrillers, but it worked out well enough in favor of the movie.

The storyline told in "Look Again" was actually entertaining and enjoyable from start to end. And I will say that writer Douglas Soesbe actually managed to pull off a who-did-it mystery well enough, as the storyline hints at different subjects all throughout the course of the movie. So that was rather enjoyable.

The acting performances in "Look Again" were good, and it was nice to see Morena Baccarin in a movie such as this. While I wasn't familiar with Paul Christie (playing Mike Caldon), Sadie LeBlanc (playing Nancy Cross) or Chris William Martin (playing Rick Palmer), I will say that the definitely performed well and added nicely to the overall feel of the movie.

If you enjoy mystery thrillers, then "Look Again" is definitely well-worth taking the time to sit down and watch. I was certainly adequately entertained. Sure, there were plot holes throughout the movie, but nothing to the extend where it ruined the flow of the story.

My rating of "Look Again" lands on a six out of ten stars.

Not that good
nightroses24 May 2021
This film starts off depressing, when a woman's boyfriend is murdered by a hooded attacker. It's fine through most of it until halfway, it becomes messy and full of silly plot holes. It feels as if the writers kept chopping it up to make it look like a good ending but it wasn't. It made no sense and wasn't satisfying.

In this movie, the main star comes across as a damsel in distress and completely changed to her other character as an alien queen in V series.

You Inspire Me.

When the Killed does reveal himself he has to give the lengthy confession instead of just covering everything up. Which of course leads to his capture of course.. But wait, he's not the killer!

This is a less than typical average thriller that does not really thrill. And then ending is pretty poor. 3/10

A Killing in Real Estate
wes-connors13 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
After taking their real estate exams in Chicago, short-haired Morena Baccarin (as Allison Brown) and her red-haired best friend Sadie LeBlanc (as Nancy Cross) go out to celebrate. When her contractor boyfriend Zach calls, Ms. Baccarin goes to meet him and is attacked by a hooded man. Poor Zach is stabbed to death. The hood and darkness makes it difficult for Baccarin to identify the killer, although she smelled liquor and cigarettes on his breath. Baccarin suffers trauma due to the attack. She sees potential killers who are innocent but can't confirm suspects brought in by police detective Maxim Roy (as Jennifer Marshall). Baccarin even suspects her boss' nephew and Ms. LeBlanc's boyfriend Paul Christie (as Michael "Mike" Caldon). Baccarin gets over it enough to start dating their friend, artist Chris William Martin (as Rick Palmer). Rival real estate bosses Susan Almgren (as Myra Banning) and Alex Carter (as Stafford Keach) also become involved. Jean-Marc Piche directs and Douglas Soesbe wrote this routine TV movie thriller, which can keep you guessing even after it's over.

**** Look Again (10/16/11) Jean-Marc Piche ~ Morena Baccarin, Sadie LeBlanc, Paul Christie, Chris William Martin

Watch Your Back, Zach!!!
lavatch14 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Look Again" was a stylish and intricately constructed thriller set in Chicago. Allison Brown is embarking on a career as a realtor when her world collapses around her. In a brutal act of violence, she is attacked in the home of her boyfriend, Zach Hardy. Instead of watching his back, Zach tackles the assailant and is stabbed to death.

While Detective Jennifer Marshall provides some moral support to Allison, she and the police are slow in connecting all the dots. The film unfolds a killer-on-the-loose scenario with Allison discovering the identity of her tormentor virtually on her own.

There was an interesting group of characters clustered around Allison, including the mercurial financier Stafford Keach and his protégé, Mike Caldon. Mike has started a relationship with Nancy, who is Allison's bestie. At one of the key junctures of the film, Nancy betrays the trust of Allison and lies to the police in order to give Mike an alibi. Another strange character is Rick Palmer, a struggling artist with connections to both Stafford and Mike. Rick also had a past association with Allison's lover, Zach. Allison's boss, Myra Banning, is linked to Stafford in an amorous way. When it becomes clear that Myra knows too much, she will take a fatal tumble down the stairs and make an exit from the screenplay.

There was a terrific performance by Morena Baccarin in the role of the beleaguered Allison. The screenplay offered good dramatic tension and a strong build to the major revelation at the end. As convoluted as the plot was, the film was still eminently watchable. The only point where credibility was truly stretched was in the love connection of Allison and the artist Rick. Would she really give him a second chance after he lied and had a major meltdown reminiscent of his "dark days" after his wife Patricia allegedly threw herself out a window?

Rick's conduct was so unpredictable that Allison would be wise to "look again" when it comes to renewing her acquaintance with Mr. Rick Palmer.

GOOD PLOT - THEME SONG IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND
Laura_Milagros15 September 2020
9/14/20 I recommend this film. Has a surprise twist at the end. I'm here to find ANYONE who knows where I can get the song used in the middle at a key turning point in the main character's recovery from tradgedy & during the closing credits: "Behind My Guarded Walls," written by Norman Racicot, sung by Claude Castonguay. This song "ccoulda/should" been a Top 40 hit. (No, it's not even listed on Tunefind!)
