the atmosphere
Kirpianuscus8 July 2020
The atmosphere of a small town from South Australia. This is the gif of this short about an involuntary murder and the solutions about it of comunity. A film at the border of dark comedy and touching social portrait. A film about children and their cruelty, about relations, about a Russian bride and ew drops of Woody Allen. Enough for a good short film.

Character, charm and dirt - loved it!

As a dark comedy, it's not 'ROLF' funny but it is a great reflection of Aussie humour, mateship and healing. The local cop, deep in his own loss and grief, is not much help when two local kids accidentally shoot a stranger. In an attempt to protect the kids, the town and Bill (the cop) from the consequences, the whole town comes together in this comedy of errors that is delightfully dusty and charming. It was funny, it was sad, it was at times cringy in the best way. So many facets of what it means to belong to a small town in outback Australia were crammed into this 21 minutes via each eccentric character. I would like to see them rewrite it as a full length movie. It had places to go. Loved it. Well done!
