Interesting concept, low low low no budget, bad acting
JCinHB13 January 2021
The story isn't terrible, but it looks like they filmed this movie using a cell phone and of course the acting is pretty terrible. I give this movie a 2.5 starting from a middle ground of 5.

This movie looks like something you might catch on Syfi channel at 3am and was made as a college/school project. If you just want the TV on to add some noise in your house, you can put this on...I guess.....

before the fake reviews come in

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is atrocious, just the way its film cheap, it does not look cheap it is, must have been made on a super micro budget.

Tina from Friday the 13th new blood is in this maybe 10 minutes of less. And the other so called can't say actors don't know how to so call act.

Avoid at all cost, and the FX where do i start.

Ho hum...

Ok, quick and easy, here are the pros and cons of this movie... Pros, it ends. Cons, it takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes to do it. Seriously people, there are very VERY few ways to spend 1 hour and 40 minutes that would be more of a waste than watching this movie. Go and offer to mow your neighbours garden, even if you don't like them it would be more rewarding than watching this garbage.

Exhausting

Warning: Spoilers
Why is this film filmed with a yellow tinge? It starts off with a Stephen Hawkins's quote & what proceeds in this pseudo sci-fi film that is so bad that the storyline should have been swallowed up in a black hole (rejected) at the pitching level. They explore the notion of the multi verse in which there are various versions of yourself yet this film is still a borefest & characters are bland as a bowl of unseasoned porridge.

It's not THAT bad...

It's not very good but at least there were some good ideas there. Except for the actor portraying Scott, the acting was terrible. Lar Park-Lincoln gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen in a movie and the director putting himself in the film was a huge mistake because he can't act.

For the true sci fi aficionado

Very low budget indie, basic sfx, but a sci fi plot that depends on viewers with imagination. Parallel universes.

What it excels at over Hollywood is: no social agendas, no identity politics, no pandering to special interest groups. Just entertainment.

Not bad

Warning: Spoilers
Scott and Vincent are top recruits at Cicero Market Technologies Corporation, where their job is to use cutting edge technologies to bring about world-changing medical, environmental and physics advancements.

But like anyone creative, they can't shut off when they leave work. At home, they continue working on pushing the limits of particle collision science until they find a parallel world and another version of Scott.

Of course, that also means that others want that tech and they don't care who gets hurt along the way, including Shara Fanning (Lar Park Lincoln from House II: The Second Story and Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood).

Expulsion is written and directed by Aaron Jackson (who also plays Vincent) and Sean C. Stephens (who also edited and produced the film). They make the most out of their low budget by pushing their high concept, all without forgetting the emotional parts of the story. After all, if your friend could build a dimensional gateway in their garage, wouldn't you be interested in trying it out?

Kept me entertained. Certainly raises the bar for budget films
furmbym22 October 2020
There aren't many reviews for this yet so I'll add mine since it currently has a very low rating - I've read the 1 star ratings and they all admit they didn't watch more than 10 minutes, the people that did watch this to the end gave it a decent rating. That should be worth noting when judging the reviews. Yes it is low budget, I mean when the plot starts with 2 nerdish actors in tacky clothes in a basement with a few computer parts as their scientific experiment, few ducting pipes and a lot of clutter I thought this was one of a million badly made movies I've seen too many of already but it doesn't take long before the story starts to intrigue you even if implausible and the special effects are not worth bragging about. Give it some time and the story becomes interesting. You develop a bit of a connection to the characters, vince is still a monotonour robot with his acting all through but he is just the sidekick and does add an interesting twist to the story. There are lots of interesting twists that I thought were original. If you watch it past the first 20 minutes and you like sci fi then you will know the special effects are nice but without a story a film is just meh, this has the story, it just lacks the special effects and better budget but I prefer computer games that are fun over computer games that have the best graphics, as such I enjoyed this more than some hollywood films I've watched.

Low expectations turn into high payoff
marcusroberson-4037021 October 2020
Read the real critics reviews! Honestly, I watched the trailer and even the first 20 or so minutes of the film and I thought, "oh no." But, hang in there...once the protagonist duo breaks into their co-workers house the twists and turns begin. However, unlike so many of the same old, same old types of higher budgeted films this one keeps you guessing until the BIG twist at the end. If you can sit through some exposition at the beginning the payoff is huge and I was truly entertained. The main star gives a performance that sells both "multiverse" versions of the character, "Scott." And his sidekick, "Vince," compliments his performance perfectly. The last monologue is truly epic! I am only holding off 10 stars because they could have done more with a bigger budget, but the story and the payoffs kept me guessing. Low budget Sci-Fi has a new bar to meet. Please make a sequel!
