Every once in a while I come across a movie that is so bereft of any skill that I wonder how it was released. REMOTE VIEWING, the story of treasure hunt which actually had the seed of a good idea, exactly fits the bill.
The acting, direction, production design and cinematography in this film are so amateurish that it begins to feel like they made it this bad on purpose, as kind of long drawn-out joke. Alas, the movie is not that kind of a joke.
One of the things that made this seem like either an unserious project or an hour and a half-long parody of who knows what was just how unbelievably disconnected the scenes were from the background music. The music, most of it apparently stock, wasn't actually bad, but I find it hard to believe how anyone could have such poor judgment on how it fits the scenes.
The only positive thing I can say is that at least the movie tells a story coherently, and that is about all.
