Welcome back, readers, for another installment of Daily Dead’s 2017 Holiday Gift Guide! For day eight, we are going all in on enamel pins, simply because there are so many amazing designs out there and it was hard to narrow down the list. That being said, here’s a list of over 100 horror and sci-fi themed enamel pins that we discovered online, and we guarantee there’s absolutely something for every genre fan out there, so if you need some stocking stuffer or holiday gift ideas, look no further!
Do keep in mind that in most cases, what you see below is only a partial listing of each site’s inventory, so I recommend digging around each online store for all kinds of goodies, because there are some truly amazing enamel pin designs out there (I could have easily done a list of 200, but my sanity won out).

Warning : Potential Spoilers Ahead
This week’s episode of The Flash, “Luck Be A Lady” showcases how hazardous bad luck can be, as The Flash and his team are hit by a string of unfortunate events. We have a mysterious new metahuman by the name of Hazard (a.k.a. Becky Sharpe), who can turn her luck at the expense of the people around her. It also reveals the cause for the creation of new metas (kudos to Barry Allen who was the sole reason behind this) as they were hit by the dark matter of the speed force.
The writers of the Flash were in terrific form as they deliver one more winner in this season. The ill-fated sequences like Flash tripping by stepping on marbles, the priest in the church allergic to spices or Jessie breaking up with Wally work for the larger part due to the tight writing.

Does your memory go as far back as 2010, or have too many catastrophes and cataclysms blurred your vision? Peter Berg’s tense account of the Bp Gulf Oil Spill debacle covers twenty hours of technological peril, as Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell battle idiotic executives and a badly-cemented oil well that’s fixing to blow sky high — and to turn a massive floating oil rig into a hellish inferno.

On the heels of Telefilm Canada’s pledge on November 11 that half of its projects will be directed or written by women in a move to close the industry gender gap by 2020, the Whistler Film Festival (Nov 30 — Dec 4) was proud to present an unprecedented number of female focused films, talent, events and awards throughout its 2016 programs.
The festival featured a record 31 (36%) films all directed by women (including 15 feature films out of 50 and 16 short films out of 36). Wff also has 38 (58%) female filmmakers out of the 66 Canadian artists confirmed to date participating in 11 talent programs — including 22 directors, 6 producers, 3 screenwriters, 2 actors, and 5 musicians/bands in the Music Showcase. Add this to the talent confirmed to attend the festival in support of their films and projects, including award winning director and screenwriter Deepa Mehta (An Anatomy Of Violence), director Ingrid Veninger (Hockey Night), director Kirsten Carthew (The Sun At Midnight) and director Martine Blue...

“The Night Of” actor Riz Ahmed penned a stirring letter for the upcoming book “The Good Immigrant,” a collection of essays about race and immigration in the U.K. by 21 British black, Asian and minority ethnic writers. In an excerpted by The Guardian, the actor details living as a British-Pakistani man, getting hassled by security at airports and compares the incidents to film auditions where he is typecast as a terrorist.
“As a minority, no sooner do you learn to polish and cherish one chip on your shoulder [then] it’s taken off you and swapped for another,” he wrote. “You are intermittently handed a necklace of labels to hang around your neck, neither of your choosing nor making, both constricting and decorative. Part of the reason I became an actor was the promise that I might be able to help stretch these necklaces, and that the teenage version of myself...

When “The Night Of” debuted, all the focus was on its young lead, Riz Ahmed — and rightly so. But with so many familiar faces popping up over the course of the first episode and beyond, we thought it important to round up the cast and remember where they came from.

Many broke out on HBO, making “The Night Of” a reunion of sorts. Some currently have shows on the premium cable behemoth, and still others worked closely with James Gandolfini, the late actor originally cast in the limited series and the driving force behind getting it made. (Gandolfini still holds a producing credit.) “The Night Of” is a passion project, through and through, and seeing the all-star cast assembled for it only further emphasizes that point.

Sidney Lumet’s 1982 courtroom masterpiece “The Verdict” is oft-referenced today in regard to Paul Newman’s show-stopping performance, but it’s the script — the construction — that’s marked the film’s indelible impact on storytelling. Newman plays Frank Galvin, an alcoholic ambulance chaser trying to scrounge together whatever money he can to keep the lights on, when he’s handed an easy payday: a comatose client whose family is suing for malpractice. The case is expected to settle out of court — and net Frank a fat check for very little work — but upon seeing the woman lying there, helpless, left to die or live out her days on a respirator, a fire is rekindled within the once prominent lawyer. He takes the case to trial, against the advice of his peers and the wishes of his clients, leading to a verdict that only really matters to him: Was Frank right...

“The Night Of” didn’t happen overnight for Riz Ahmed. The actor first began work on the HBO drama four years ago, back when the late James Gandolfini first brought his passion project to network. “I started shooting this in 2012. I was a different person,” he recently told IndieWire. “I’ll never forget this experience. It’s emotional, because it was a lot of blood, sweat and tears for everyone to get to this point.”

1. “BoJack Horseman” Season 3 (available July 22)
Why Should I Watch It? “BoJack Horseman” is a literal and figurative treasure trove of joy, insight and harsh truths. On the literal side, so many small moments pop up throughout the 30-minute episodes it takes repeat viewings to appreciate them all — from the .gif-worthy transitionary bits to the heavy-hitting quips. Yet figuratively, “BoJack” offers up a distinct, strong viewpoint that isn’t afraid to take questions to an existential level, which creates deeper subjective realizations each time you watch (and re-watch, and re-watch, and re-watch…). This is as “must-see” as TV gets — every time.
Best Episode: We wouldn’t dare spoil the new season — not even by telling you what episode to look forward to — and we’ve already covered Season 2. (After much deliberation, we chose “Escape From L.A.” as the best episode.) So let’s just set this time aside to honor the...

Shinsuke Nakamura is on his way to World Wrestling Entertainment, and as such has been stripped of his Iwgp Intercontinental Title. This all but confirms his departure, as performers being stripped of titles outside of injury is a rarity in New Japan Pro Wrestling. In fact, this is the first time that the Intercontinental Title has been vacated since it was introduced in 2011.
The belt was initially a prop to get Mvp over, as he beat Toru Yano in a tournament final to become the first champion. Interestingly enough, in the first round of said tournament Mvp defeated the man who currently stands atop of Njpw, Kazuchika Okada. Since Mvp’s run there have been a total of seven champions, including Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Bad Luck Fale.
Unlike WWE, this secondary championship isn’t really secondary at all. Shinsuke Nakamura began his first reign in July 2012 by defeating Hirooki Goto,...

Grimm's witches are causing trouble and spilling blood in this week's episode...

4.15 Double Date
“I can’t have another baby; I don’t even know where my first one is!”
This was Adalind’s hilarious – yet accurate – response to the news to finding herself pregnant again, and was the unquestionably the line of the show.
“I need to find you another father,” she wails to her unborn child. “I need to sleep with someone, fast...Viktor!”
The few lines of dialogue just sum up Adalind perfectly – self-absorbed and an utter princess, but undeniably a survivor. Her first instinct was to protect herself, and she has no problem stitching anyone up to do it.
However there’s a fly in that particular ointment – Viktor’s out, shipped back to Austria by the King for reasons unknown, leaving a man-sized hole in her plans to fit up the royal.

Nick, Juliette and Adalind's supernatural soap opera becomes even more complicated in Grimm's mid-season premiere...
This review contains spoilers.
4.14 Bad Luck
Grimm returned from yet another mid-season sabbatical to deal with the fallout of Nick’s discovery that his girlfriend is a right witch.
If you remember, we were left hanging at the end of the last episode, Trial By Fire, when Juliette confessed she was a Hexenbiest to Nick, after wiping the floor – literally – with arch-nemesis Adalind.
Our hero reacts by ticking all the right emotional tick boxes: shock, betrayal, guilt, confusion... Despite reassuring Juliette that he would never hurt her, he takes off, presumably to try to figure out the deeply weird and conflicting relationship that exists between himself, Juliette and Adalind (a relationship that we learn by the end of the episode is about to get a lot more, ahem, fraught.)
As his job is being a hero,...

Juliet and Nick can’t seem to catch a break. Between her finding out about his secret life and then getting involved in that secret life – e.g. having her memory erased by a cat, having to trade places with Adalind etc., – and now, when things finally seem like they’ve reached equilibrium, the scales get tipped.. After last episode’s much-needed ass whupping of Adalind, poor Juliette barely gets time to breathe (and maybe gloat a bit) before Nick comes home. In the interest of full disclosure (something neither she nor Nick seem particularly good at, or even inclined towards) and … Continue reading →

It's no surprise that "Cinderella" beat "Run All Night" among newcomers this weekend. The Disney live-action fairy tale was widely expected to suck all the oxygen out of the box office, and its estimated $70.1 million debut is in line with predictions.
Still, "Run All Night" seemed like it would be smart counter-programming, drawing older men who wouldn't be interested in a movie made for young girls. Yet "Run All Night" underperformed even its modest predictions (in the $14 million range), opening instead at just an estimated $11.0 million.
For the third week in a row, then, Hollywood experts will be tearing their hair out, wondering if a formerly sure-fire leading man (Will Smith two weeks ago, Vince Vaughn last week, and now Liam Neeson) has permanently lost his mojo. In each case, despite a recent downward trend, the funeral arrangements seem premature. True, it's not hard to see why Neeson's career appears to be in trouble.

Hey, "Grimm" peeps. Yep, it's true guys. We regrettably have to inform you that your favorite show will be leaving you tonight and for a couple of weeks after that because it's on a pretty long hiatus until the end of March. If you hit up NBC ,tonight, all you'll see is a special Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, so you might want to look into arranging other plans. In the meantime, you can prep to watch the new episode 14 labeled, "Bad Luck," on March 20th at 8pm central time, so be sure to jot that date down on your TV calendars. NBC did deliver a promo/spoiler clip (below) for episode 14, last week, in case you haven't watched it yet. The official teaser description for episode 14, reads like this: "His beauty has become a beast and Nick will be determined to find answers. But one more visitor is in for a big surprise.

Longtime member of X-Force and an off and on X-Man, Domino has always been the go-to gal when the group needs a bit of skill and luck on a mission, reason being that when she's around her abilities tend to skew things in their favor. Longtime member of X-Force and an off and on X-Man, Domino has always been the go-to gal when the group needs a bit of skill and luck on a mission, reason being that when she's around her abilities tend to skew things in their favor. Of course, her aim with a sniper rifle doesn’t exactly hurt either. Alright, enough piling on the compliments. Here is some of the best Domino cosplay around.

Charles Ramsay's witness report in Cleveland, the Star Trek Spocks battle it out – and a sneak peek at World's End
We're starting with a dead funny clip this week – a hilarious lip reading of The Walking Dead, which can't fail to raise a smile. Make sure you catch the song towards the end!
Think of a song that was on everyone's lips last year and it has to be Gangnam Style. So it seems fitting to say farewell to Sir Alex Ferguson, with a Gangnam mash-up featuring the Manchester United boss as you have never seen him before.
Changing identity is a characteristic of David Bowie and he has been in the news this week with an explicit version of the video to his new release, The Next Day. Enjoy the clip – but it's not one for the children.
Also in the news was the amazing rescue of three women in Cleveland.

Valentine's Day is technically a Feast Day, and since I've lost all connection to my Catholic upbringing, I've chosen to believe that "feasting" means indulging in classic Cathy pastimes like chocolate binges and amazing weight gains. Game? Additionally, I say we feast upon a fine candidate for Greatest Romantic Comedy Ever, the whimsical, yet deeply deadpan Moonstruck.
I'm aware that we just celebrated Moonstruck's 25th anniversary a couple months ago, but we've got plenty of reason to dredge up Olympia Dukakis' jaguar smirk yet again: 1) I want to. 2) Logo is playing Moonstruck as part of its pre-Oscars movie block. 3) Cher's recent single "A Woman's World" didn't take off like it should've, so I'm using the eternal goodness of Moonstruck to renew my optimism. 4) Nicolas Cage used to rule. Never forget it. 5) What else are you going to watch this Valentine's Day? Some Gif of cats making out?...

With uncertainty surrounding the Jack Reacher's movie future, James looks at which of Lee Child's books might work as a sequel...
Last month saw the long awaited on screen debut for Lee Child’s literary creation Jack Reacher, a film which had been raising eyebrows across the globe since its announcement.
First off, there was the choice of which of Lee Child’s 14 Jack Reacher adventures then published would be used for the character’s debut film - but we’ll get to that later. By far, the news that caused the greatest fuss was the casting of the man who would fill his not so small shoes.
Casting Jack Reacher was always going to be a nightmare. The character’s physical appearance, which had been repeatedly played up in Child’s pages was simply impossible to replicate. It could be argued then that...

I think it’s ironic – we can debate if I’m using that word properly or not later – that any network would use advertisements so obviously inspired by the realm of the Internet when they try so hard to keep their programs from being pirated and uploaded to the Internet, but that’s exactly what Showtime is doing for Dexter and its other shows for Comic-Con. They are basing their ads on the popular Advice Animals meme and its infinite variations, such as Courage Wolf and Bad Luck Brian. Am I the only person who views this obvious misuse of memes as a little lazy?

HBO has decided to cancel its horse-racing drama "Luck" after a third horse died during production on Tuesday. HBO released the following statement:
It is with heartbreak that executive producers David Milch and Michael Mann together with HBO have decided to cease all future production on the series Luck.
Safety is always of paramount concern. We maintained the highest safety standards throughout production, higher in fact than any protocols existing in horseracing anywhere with many fewer incidents than occur in racing or than befall horses normally in barns at night or pastures. While we maintained the highest safety standards possible, accidents unfortunately happen and it is impossible to guarantee they won’t in the future. Accordingly, we have reached this difficult decision.
We are immensely proud of this series, the writing, the acting, the filmmaking, the celebration of the culture of horses, and everyone involved in its creation.

HBO may have granted Luck a second season after airing a single episode of the Dustin Hoffman-led racetrack drama, but it looks like it won't all be smooth sailing for the show. PETA came after the series when news came out that two horses were put down after sustaining leg fractures. (This is why two episodes won't have the standard "No Animals Were Harmed" disclaimer given out by the American Humane Association.) The animal-rights organization first took issue with the show in January in their article, "Nothing But Bad Luck for Horses in 'Luck'": Perhaps if producers had considered the proved safety protocols that we would have suggested, these horses would still be alive. The show's theme is showcasing the dark side of racing, and while it does acknowledge how many thoroughbreds suffer catastrophic breakdowns and how horses are routinely doped, two [...]...

Filmmaker Terry Gilliam appears briefly in the recent (and terrific) Martin Scorsese documentary George Harrison: Living In The Material World, and he seemed so happy despite the fact that he's had such crushing bad luck getting his films made. According to Italian site Altarimini, during a press conference where Gilliam was awarded the annual Fellini Foundation Prize, the filmmaker stated that he...

Author Lee Child dropped into Empire a few hours ago for a chat where the topic of the film adaptation of his novel "One Shot" was brought up.
Tom Cruise plays Child's regular hero character Jack Reacher in the film which is an adaptation of the ninth of sixteen books in the series. If the film is a success and a franchise is launched, the question becomes which is the next book in the series that will get adapted.
Child says "They're talking about that now. They don't want to jinx the success of the first one by talking too much, but they want Bad Luck And Trouble as the third (with Neagley in it) because they feel, by then, we'll be ready for an ensemble piece. They haven't decided about the second. They would kind of like 61 Hours, but creating a thousand square miles of snow is difficult. So it's wait and see.

We don't want to get you too excited, but we just had Lee Child, the man behind Jack Reacher, in the office for a webchat. During his barrage of questions from Empire readers, he was asked this little gem by a man named Jason:"If One Shot is a successful film, which book from the series would you like to be adapted for the screen next?"Lee Child responded with:"They're talking about that now. They don't want to jinx the success of the first one by talking too much, but they want Bad Luck And Trouble as the third (with Neagley in it) because they feel, by then, we'll be ready for an ensemble piece.""They haven't decided about the second. Reid Hoffman, angel investor, co-founder of LinkedIn and Fast Company Most Creative Person, took the stage at SXSW interactive as part of the distinguished speaker series, and immediately brought the ballroom back to the future. “What are we stumbling toward here?” recalling the visions of a shiny future of yester-technology. “In the ‘50s and ‘70s, the predictions were flying cars, robots, and computers that would advance the boundaries of physics,” said Hoffman. “It was the Jetsons. None of that has come true.”
Instead says Hoffman, he encouraged the entrepreneurs and technologists who want to embrace the future need to understand the nuances of data in an information age. Where it might not be coffee-making robots and flying cars, the future is happening “sooner and stranger than we think."

After last night's heart-wrenching elimination on "Dancing with the Stars," it seems Bristol Palin isn't the only one fans are blaming. Enter Maks' former partner and (speculated) girlfriend, Erin Andrews.
A week prior to Brandy's exit, the Espn reporter spoke with MovieLine and implied that though Brandy does have a background in performance, she's no Nicole Scherzinger.
"Brandy is in fact a performer," she says. "Jennifer is a performer. But I mean? The Pussycat Doll? That's a totally different level."
She also comments about Brandy's emotional side, which apparently hit a nerve with fans. "She's even emotional when she gets her scores," Erin jokes. "I can't tell if she's praying or if she's about to pass out." She continues, "just because you win a mirror ball trophy on 'Dancing with the Stars,' it doesn't mean it validates your existence in life."
