Sex & Nudity

Scantily clad USO girls dance for soldiers. Several men are seen nude from behind. Posters of topless girls are shown. An extremely long scene with men undressing and playing with girls, full nipples are shown, and a long sex scene follows. Later on another sex scene, another nude female is shown from the waist up.

Violence & Gore

A lot of intense graphic war violence throughout.

Soldiers massacre innocent civilians.

A real water buffalo is shown being slaughtered. It is played several times, also in slow-motion.

A man is beheaded. (not shown) But we see his head after it is removed.

Profanity

Redux version: At least 100 "F" words (20 used with "mother"), 36 "S" words, cunt is used several times. 3 using male genitals ("prick" and "cock"), 1 slang term for breasts ("jugs"), 20 a-words (6 used with "hole"), 9 hells, 6 damns, 2 S.O.B.s, 1 crap, 15 uses of "G-damn," 4 of "Jesus" and 1 use each of "God," "Jesus Christ," "My God," "Oh my God" and "Holy Christ" as exclamations

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking

A soldier uses LSD and some of his visual hallucinations are shown. Marijuana is smoked. Cigarettes are smoked consistently throughout the movie. Alcohol is used both abusively and socially throughout the movie. Redux version: A couple smoke an opium pipe while lying in bed.

The general tension of the movie makes the combat sequences very intense.

Many scenes and quick clips of mutilated bodies.

A real live water buffalo being slaughtered with machetes may be found to be disturbing.
